The Farm

Growing up on a family farm in Grafton, Ohio, my entire childhood was filled with farming experiences. As young as 4 years old I would tag along with my Dad and Grandpa in the fields and grew to learn how to manage the farm and more importantly I learned the meaning of hard work and no excuses.

Growing up on the farm defined my interests and my work ethic. On the farm everything breaks and there is only one option – to fix it. I loved science, math, and getting my hands dirty – so naturally my time on the farm led me to pursue mechanical and aerospace engineering at Case Western Reserve University.

If you would like to check out our family farm’s website follow the link to Pickering Hills Farms – http://pickeringhillfarms.com/. Otherwise here are some photos of the farm.

  • My Grandfather

I was the lucky grandchild who was old enough to really experience my grandfather before he passed. He was my best friend and I learned so much in my early years from him. Below are some articles about him that do a great job describing his personality and love of people and farming. Click on the articles to read.
